Super-tri kids category included in Cebu leg of NAGT Series
CEBU, Philippines - Young athletes will have a chance to showcase their wares with the inclusion of the super-tri kids category in the Cebu leg of the 2012 National Age-group Triathlon Series’ Cebu leg with the inclusion of the super-tri kids (STK) on April 1.
Among the venues being eyed are the Plantation Bay Resort and Spa in Lapu-Lapu City and Alegre Beach Resort in the municipality of Sogod, northern Cebu.
It's the first time that the STK or super-tri kids aquathlon will be included in the race. STK usually features two age brackets, 9-10 and 11-12.
A mini-sprint could also be added if many will be joining in. It covers 13-15, 16-19, adult male and female classes.
On the other hand, the age brackets to be contested in the regular triathlon event are 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59 and 60-above in the men's division. The distaff side has 17-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39 and 40-above.
The Triathlon Association of the Philippines (TRAP)-organized NAGT Series will formally kick off on February 5 at the Subic Bay Freeport.
Action shifts to Sipalay, Negros Occidental before heading to Cebu. The succeeding legs will be staged in Ayala, Alabang, Cagayan de Oro City and Los Baños, Laguna. - (THE FREEMAN)
