Milan, Torralba advance in Jancor 9-ball tilt
CEBU, Philippines - Allan "Colonnade" Milan and Ramon Torralba prevailed over their respective rivals by the narrowest of margins to proceed into the next round of the 2nd Jancor Post Sinulog 9-Ball Tournament at the 138 Mall Billiards Center along Colon Street, this city.
Milan escaped with a 5-4 victory over Deo Velez, in the same way with Torralba against Eddie Tan.
Jovanni Alcontin and Ricky Etang also advanced after getting past separate foes. Alcontin tamed Cain Maga, 5-3, while Etang pulled off a 5-4 cliffhanger over Cris Alcantara.
The latest four qualifiers, thus, joined Anthony Cortes, Arnel Notarte, James Earl and Mark Uy into the last 16 knockout stage.
The four-day tilt offers a total of P30,000 in cash prize to the top finishers.
The champion will go home P12,000 richer, while the second to fourth will pocket P7,000, P4,000 and P3,000, respectively.
The fifth to eighth placers will get P500 apiece, while the ninth to 16th will each receive a consolation prize of P300. (FREEMAN)
