Magis Eagles turn back Dragons in NBTC caging

- GGM -

CEBU, Philippines - The Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles masterfully overhauled a 12-point halftime deficit and went on to crush the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons, 78-59, and stay unbeaten in the Seaoil National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Elite League last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Earlier, the University of San Carlos (USC)-South Campus Baby Warriors improved their win-loss record to 2-2 after trouncing the Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) Greywolves, 67-59.

Confronted with a 26-38 deficit at the intermission, the Magis Eagles changed the complexion of the match in their favor with better teamwork and scorching offensive in the final half.

Three players cashed in double figures for the Magis Eagles led by Julius Cadavis with 13 points. Aaron Sing and Patrick Go connived for 21 markers as they survived the 26-point explosion of CEC's top gunner James Neil Sumayang.

The Magis Eagles, thus, tightened their grip of the solo lead in group B with an immaculate 4-0 slate. (FREEMAN)
