CEBU, Philippines - Sanai’s Jeffrey Patricio and Bukidnon’s Rolando Lingaw-Lingaw showcased their punching might with savvy to clobber their respective Japanese foes in the initial offering of the 2012 Summit Natural Drinking Water Amateur Boxing Series at the Gaisano Countrymall carpark.
Patricio scored a 3-0 whitewash of Eziri Kazuma, while Lingaw-Lingaw gave Takaoki Noma the same beating in the other 58 kgs. match.
Patricio’s teammate Margarito Moya, however, failed to meet expectations as he bowed to Bacolod’s Rolan Servania.
On the other hand, Cabancalan ended its campaign with an even 3-3 win-loss record, in the same way with the University of the Visayas at 2-2. Philippine-Australian Boxing Club posted a 2-1 win-loss slate, while Mabolo and Talamban logged in one victory each.
Cabancalan's Polid Banal silenced his teammate Ferde San Roque in the 46 kgs. class, Cherwellan Cantel overpowered JK Malupay in the 52 kgs. division, while Eleno Traya defeated PABC’s Ryan Catagulla in the 58 kgs. category.
Dann Lou Codilla delivered win for UV after he mauled Cabancalan's Mardy Muana. Bryan Remedio was accounted for UV's second triumph at the expense of Sultan Kudarat’s Marvin Lulu.
UV suffered some casualties though after Melmark Dignos and Wendel Acharon fell prey at the hands od Mabolo’s Christian Bacolod and Talamban’s Kevin Jake Cataraja, respectively.
Namesakes 30 kgs. Raymond Tarona and 36 kgs. Raymond Rama, both from PABC, completed the winners’ list. Arona outpunched Banilad’s Gabriel Besinga, while Rama whipped Banilad’s Jeswe Formentera. (FREEMAN)
