URCC-Cebu 7 "Dominate" set Jan. 13

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano mixed martial arts followers will once again witness an action-packed event with the staging of the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC)-Cebu 7 on January 13 at the Cebu International Convention Center.

Dubbed as “Dominate”, the upcoming MMA show features two Visayas championship fights and a superfight topbilled by Eduard “The Landslide” Folayang.

DEFTAC-Bacolod’s Victor "The Gladiator" Torre will defend his Visayan pinweight title against Cebu YawYan Ardigma’s Geronimo Etac, while Visayan bantamweight champion Rex de Lara of Team Tinagan will tackle the Lapu-Lapu City-based SELDEF top fighter Carry Bullos.

Torre tallied four wins in his URCC career, so far. He got his belt at the expense of Mark Revalde in the URCC-Cebu 6 early this year via submission.

Etac, on the other hand, was last seen in the URCC-5 with a tap out victory against Wilfredo Cajurao, Jr.

Bullos, for his part, hopes to bounce back from a heart-breaking loss to Leonard Delarmino during the URCC-Cebu 6. Bullos was dominating the early part of the match until Delarmino found the opportunity to beat the Cebuano well-rounded fighter.

Current URCC welterweight champion Folyang is also set to see action, but his opponent is yet to be announced by the promoters. (FREEMAN)
