SHS-Ateneo shines in VISSA swimfest

CEBU, Philippines -  Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu ruled VISSA's year-ending invitational swimming competition dubbed as the “D’Swimber Fest III” at the Cebu City Sports Center.

SHS-AdC collected a total of 1,013 points from all divisions, way ahead of University of San Carlos which ended with 626 points.

The visiting Surigao City Swimming Team came out third with 382 points followed by the University of Bohol Rockets with 307 points and Talisay City with 287.

Rounding up the top 10 cast were Dumanjug Swim Team (256), Surigao Dolphins Aquatic Sport (233), Rodriguez Aquatic Spors Acade (212), Pool Pirates Swimming Team (166), and Paref Springdale and Sacred Heart School-Hijas de Jesus with 69 points each.

SHS-AdC’s day even sparkled better when three of its bets emerged as the best swimmers in their respective classes in Maxine Chua (girls 7-8), Bettina Vasquez (girls 13-14) and Nikki Go (girls 15-17).

USC also had three best swimmers in April Goden and Kyle Lorenzo Nemil (girls 13-14) and Cynthjune Goden (boys 15-17).

The other most outstanding swimmers were Surigao City’s John Sitoy (boys 6-under) and Jeffernyl Relator (boys 7-8), Kent Franzen Cagape and Sherlyn Venturina (boys and girls 9-10), Collene Go (girls 6-under), University of Bohol’s Patrick Louie Birad (boys 11-12), Rodiguez Aquatic Sports Academy’s Pia Allesandra Ballos (girls11-12), and Surigao Dolphins’ Ronel Tandayag (boys 18-above). – (FREEMAN)
