Montealto stops foe in 90 sec. in Summit boxing tourney
CEBU, Philippines - Consolacion’s Ritchie Montealto scored the fastest victory in the latest edition of the Summit Natural Drinking Water Amateur Boxing Series the other night at the Gaisano Country Mall carpark.
Montealto stopped Talamban’s Raul Yu at the 1:30 mark of their 52 kgs. battle.
Two other bets from Talamban had to fight against each other, with Arnold Aubido outpunching Tiboy Ardiente in the 56 kgs. division.
On the other hand, University of the Visayas’ Dann Lou Codilla pulled off a 3-0 shutout of Bacolod’s Rey Morales sometime ago in the 56 kgs. category, Adam Taylor Campbel, a Singaporean, clobbered Philippine-Australian Boxing Club’s Renante Malunhaw in the 62 kgs. class.
PABC though salvaged two victories courtesy of 33 kgs. Raul Tarona and 36 kgs. Reymond Rama. Tarona outsmarted Cabancalan’s Rey Sanchez, 2-1, while Rama silenced Mabolo’s John Lloyd Trasporte.
In the other bouts, Jimboy Mayang dumped Rey Abesia (50 kgs., Warren Gabumpa mauled Richard Quilatan (48 kgs.), Christian Bacolod beat Ferde San Roque (50 kgs.), and Jason Formentera of Camotes triumphed over JK Malupay (53 kgs.). (FREEMAN)
