CEBU, Philippines - To promote environmental awareness to their viewers, Solar Entertainment Network will spearhead the Earth Run 2011 this coming December 18 at the Parkmall grounds in Mandaue City.
Even though there's another running event that will take place on that same day, the organizers are confident that they will gather enough participants for their race, which aims not only to promote a healthy lifestyle but also to show care for the environment.
The Earth Run is backed up by Greenpeace, an international environmental organization that acts to protect and conserve the environment.
Among the cate-gories to be contested are the 10K, 5K, 3K and 1.5K for dog lovers.
Race director Christian Cortes said the 1.5K for dog lovers is a unique category as it features pet owners showing their talent in running with their dogs.
Aside from trophies, cash prizes will be given away to the top finishers in each division.
Registration fee is pegged at P250 for the three categories and P200 for the dogs lovers inclusive of race singlet, loot bag and a finisher's dri-fit shirt.
Entry forms are available at Parkmall and Chris Sports outlets in Ayala Center Cebu and SM City-Cebu. - THE FREEMAN
