CEBU, Philippines - Runners will have until tomorrow to enjoy the discounted registration fee for the 2012 Cebu City Marathon.
As of this writing, 2,279 have registered for the January 8 event.
Forty-four of the early registrants are foreigners and 424 are from other areas of the country.
The foreign runners, who have signed up, come from the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Canada, Guam, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore.
In the breakdown of entries, there are now a total of 801 runners for the 42.195-kilometer full marathon.
The half-marathon, on the other hand, has the smallest number of entries so far with 452 while the 5-km run has 996 entries.
For those who have not yet registered, one can do it online through www.cebumarathon.com or onsite at the Active Zone, Ayala Center Cebu.
Registration fees are P500 for the 5K, P700 for 21K and P1,000 for 42km.
The registration will continue until December 15.
But those, who won’t be able to list up by tomorrow, will have to pay P600 for 5K, P900 for 21K and P1200 for the 42K.
The registration fee would entitle the participant to a limited edition New Balance singlet (for the first 5 thousand runners only), finisher's medal for all 42K runners, timing chip powered by Sprint Race Timers, race bib, post-race refreshments, post-race massage (21K & 42K runners), and raffle ticket, product sampling & giveaways from sponsors, access to the Marathon Expo on January 4-7, access to carbo-loading party on January 6, and big discounts in all Active Zone stores.
