Almario shines in CCC Monthly Medal
CEBU, Philippines - Many time-club champion Carl Almario fired even-par 72 strokes last Saturday to bag the lowest gross honors for the premiere handicap class of the October Monthly Medal of Cebu Country Club.
Almario had identical nines of 36 strokes to claim the lowest gross plum for class A.
The lowest net honors for class A went to Evans Tumaliwan, who had 64 strokes off a gross 74. Runner-up honors went to Lor Alaan, who had a net 67 off a gross 78.
The lowest gross honors for class B went to Nino Bascon with seven-over-par 79. He had nines of 38 and 41.
Lowest net for class B was Peter Mancao with 65 off a gross 82. Runner-up honors went to Mamoru Ito with a net score of 66.
Willy Suarez fired nines of 43 and 41 for a gross 84, which was the best for class C.
The lowest net honors for the division went to Sammy Uytrengsu with 64 while Henry Dy had a net 65 to take the runner-up honors.
Lowest gross for class D was Angelo ‘Boy’ Barcelo with 98.
Paul Mangio took the lowest net honors with 66 while Miguel ‘Mike’ Mancao was the runner-up with a net 72.
The lowest gross plum for the seniors’ class went to Clifford Celdran with 78 strokes.
Edgar Chiongbian won the lowest net plum with 69 while runner-up honors went to Bugs Unchuan withy 71. Unchuan won the prize after pulling past Peter Po, Sr. in the countback.
Tedd Almario once again ruled the guest division with a net score of 75 off a gross 84. Runner-up honors went to Akira Hatano with a net score of 76. (FREEMAN)
