New category added in Keiz BJ Motocross Series

CEBU, Philippines - The Keiz BJ Motors and Phoenix Cyclomax Titan Invitational Motocross Series gets bigger and more exciting with the inclusion of the peewee starter category in its fourth leg slated on October 23 at the specially-designed racetrack in Brgy. Caduawan, Tabogon north of Cebu.

The newest addition is open to aspiring riders aged seven to nine years old who have not yet joined any race.

This is being done as the organizing Keiz BJ Motors and Phoenix Cyclomax want to give the young daredevils an avenue to showace their stuff as well as provide them the needed exposure preparatory for tougher competitions as they grow up.

The other categories featured in the one-day race spearheaded by Keiz BJ Motors big boss Siegfred Ornopia include the expert, beginners open, local enduro, beginners limited edition, executive A, B and C, intermediate, ladies special, mini 85cc, mini 65cc and peewee.

Ornopia's sons Brylle and Kenken are out to defend their respective titles.

The 11-year-old Brylle hopes to retain his crown in the 85cc action. He will also participate in the beginners limited edition.

The nine-year-old Kenken is the reigning title-holder in the 65cc and peewee divisions. Ornopia's youngest son, seven-year-old Keizer, will strut his wares in the 65cc and peewee class.

As an added challenge for the local bets, the Maasin City-based DG Racing Team led by the legendary coach of Shell Yamaha in Dodong Galia will be coming over. Galia will tag along with him his sons Peewee and PJ Galia and Resjah Garin.

The other out-of-town riders to watch out for are Jovie Saulog and his daughter Janelle of Manila and Winsor Famorca of Iloilo.

The event is among the highlights of the annual fiesta of Caduawan on October 28-29 in honor of their beloved patroness Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

“Naandan na nako nga magpalumba sa piyesta ni Mama Mary,” matud pa ni Siegfred. “Walay piyesta nga dili uwanon sukad nga nagpalumba ko pero kaluoy sa Ginoo wala na gyud mag-uwan for the past three years na, mora’g nahimuot si Mama Mary."

Chiefly backed up by Phoenix Cyclomax Titan, Haojue Phils. and Energy FM-Cebu, the race is also supported by Haojue Phils. marketing manager Edmund Pingkian, Phoenix Phils. accounting manager Jeoffrey Viñalon, Pedrano Machine Shop proprietor Nanding Pedrano and RMO Motor Parts.—EBV (FREEMAN)
