'Laban ng Lahi' boxing set in Liloan

CEBU, Philippines - Explosive ring action will once again take place in the municipality of Liloan as Rex "Wakee" Salud (RWS) Promotions presents the “Laban ng Lahi: The Young Prospects” fight card this Sunday at the Liloan Sports Complex.

WBC ranked No.15 and Philippine No. 2 super flyweight contender Marlon Tapales (18-1, 6KOs) will take centerstage in the main event against Martin "Mobile Martin" Mubiru (8W-2L, 5 KO's) of Uganda in a non-title bout scheduled for 10 rounds.

The Lanao del Norte-native Tapales, who is fresh from as fourth round knockout win against Thai Yodpichai Sithsaithong, will be tested against the 26-year-old Mubiru, who will try to bounce back from a close split decision loss to Filipino Danilo Pena in his last bout in Japan.

 In the supporting main event, undefeated Cebuano warrior Marco Demecillo Singwangcha (14-0-1, 10KO's) will slug it out with Louie Bantigue (21-15-7, 12KOs) for the interim Philippine super flyweight title.

 On the other hand, RJ Anoos and Joan de Guia will clash against each other, while Sandoval Singwangcha will take on Gerry Tumogdan.

 GMA-7 reality boxing show “Buhay Boksingero” winners Jherpaul Valero and Rajah Renoel Pael will also see action against Allan Doronella and Rodel Sonquet, respectively.

 The rest of the card features Redondo Singwangcha vs. Honey Boy Vidad, Llanera Singwangcha vs. Joel Soterol and Arnel Caoktoy vs Rex. Quimaw. – Lemuel P. Maglinte (THE FREEMAN)
