Pink Oct. Run opens registration tomorrow

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU, Philippines - Registration for the Pink October Run begins tomorrow and ends on October 8 at the Think Pink desk of Ayala Center-Cebu’s Active Zone.

The run will take place on October 9 with the start/finish line to be set up at the ACC Terraces. There will be three race lengths – 3-K, 5-K, and 10-K.

This year’s edition is also called "The 3 Fly-Over Run" as the longest course will pass through three flyovers.

This annual event is intended to increase the people’s awareness on breast cancer.

With that, there will be no cash prizes for the top finishers in the event.

The first 100 finishers under the 10-K run, however, will receive special medals donated by Suarez & Sons.

Refreshments will also be available after the run plus a short lay forum on breast cancer awareness will be held after the race.

"We hope to increase awareness of the public with regards to the early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. We also believe that running is one of the best forms of promoting a healthy lifestyle,” said Philippine College of Surgeons Cebu Chapter president Dr. Rex Catipay.

This event is organized by the Philippine College of Surgeons Cebu - Eastern Visayas Chapter in cooperation with Ayala Center Cebu Mall and Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente with technical support provided by Joel Baring of the Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE).

For more information on the event, please call Miraim Callet at 0917 324 8046. (FREEMAN)
