CEBU, Philippines - The Carcel siblings are gearing for the Petron Karting Series 2011’s final leg in Carmona, Cavite this November.
Despite being busy with their school, the siblings could not just set aside their love for the sport.
Their absence from the local karting scene was once thought as the end to their racing days, but the Carcels found time to join a national event.
Tonyo Carcel, a third year high school student of Paref-Springdale, won his first title this year in Petron’s sixth leg at Clark International Speedway.
Carcel got the formula SL expert’s division’s top spot.
John Castellar finished second and Kim Lagman came out third.
Another Cebuano, Joseph Rojo also joined the race and wound up fourth.
Kali Carcel, for her part, went away finishing fourth in the novice class.
Neil Carcel, Tonyo and Kali’s dad, told The Freeman that the two will still keep on competing as long as it will not be in conflict with their studies. (FREEMAN)
