CEBU, Philippines - Unbeaten Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles and defending champion Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Dragons will rekindle their brewing rivalry as they clash for the first time this season today in the secondary division of the 11th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) basketball season at the Cebu Coliseum.

5:15 pm DBTC vs. USPF
6:45 pm SHS-AdC vs. CEC
Both teams came up with contrasting victories in their previous hardcourt duty last Sunday at the Cebu Coliseum. The Magis Eagles soared high with a 94-55 rout of the University of Cebu (UC) Junior Webmasters, while the Dragons came out strong in the fourth period to hack out 79-60 win over the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers.
Armed with a impressive 6-0 slate that eclipsed their record in their CESAFI comeback last year,
the Magis Eagles will try to settle that one-year old issue in tonight's grudge rematch between the two heavyweights in high school basketball.
The Magis Eagles had a woeful 0-2 start last year before picking up a win in their third try. Likewise, the Dragons fell to 1-1 early before sweeping all their games on the way to capture the juniors crown in a record feat for CEC.
The Sacred Heart-CEC duel also holds significant value as its outcome will determine who will emerge as the elimination round topnotcher.
In fact, the Baby Lancers are thrilled to see the game because a win by the Dragons would complicate the standings as it will result into a triple tie that might gave the UV bantams the best record after the first round.
This is because the Baby Lancers defeated the Dragons by 15 points, 62-47, but lost to the Magis Eagles by six points, 73-79.
With the departure of key players from both squads, there would be no crying over spilled milk for the Magis Eagles and the Dragons.
In the part of the Magis Eagles, most of their players went to their sister team Ateneo de Manila, while the Dragons have some of their players in exodus to the University of the East namely MVP Nike Montalvo, Benjamin James Zosa, Mark Olayon and Roy Vincent Villarias.
Meanwhile, the other results in last Sunday's games saw the USC Baby Warriors winning over the CIT-U Wildkittens, 70-59, and the USJ-R Baby Jaguars prevailing over the DBTC Junior Greywolves, 85-74. (FREEMAN)
