Cokaliong, CECABA stars return to action

- EBV -

CEBU, Philippines - Decorated businessman/sportsman Chester Cokaliong and the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (CECABA) All-Stars plunge back into hardcourt action as they take on the Siloys of Cebu Daily News in an exhibition match tomorrow at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Cokaliong, a multi-awarded persona not only in the sport he loved most but also in the academe and entrepreneurship especially in the shipping industry, craves to add more collection in his already illustrious treasure vault.

The sharp-shooting Cokaliong guns for his 22nd 3-point king title, his 16th 2-ball championship and his third free throw shooting crown in a colorful hoop career that started to blossom when he formed the CECABA 12 years ago.

Cokaliong will be playing alongside his trusted comrades in the ageless Zotico Tan, Joel Chan, Christoper Cokaliong, Wilson Yu, Richard Yu, Ryan Alexis Mendez, Dean Dy Teves, Joseph James Yu, Shaun Chritopher Wang, and Mark Bukiron.

Overall, the CECABA All-Stars compiled a decent 19-6-1 win-loss-draw record since they joined competitive basketball against other community-based leagues in 2002.

This time, they will be up against the forces of Siloys manned by playing coach Brian Ochoa, team captain Calvin Cordova, Edouard Illut, Neil Tecson, Atoy Lagunay, Johann Juntilla, Jay Labra, Tito Tan, Junjie Mendoza, Johnny Tabuco, Dale Rosal, Jonas Panerio, Reynald Tiro, Sammy Yncierto, and Christopher Caruana.   - (THE FREEMAN)
