Explosive matches lined up in YFC V: Recompense

CEBU, Philippines - Exciting, highly entertaining and action-packed matches are what fans could expect as top caliber fighters from Visayas and Mindanao will square off against each other in the keenly-awaited Yaw-Yan ArDigma Fighting Challenge (YFC) 5: Recompense this Saturday night at the Cebu Coliseum.

Yaw-Yan ArDigma CEO/Founder and Vis-Min director Master Benigno "Ekin" R. Caniga, Jr said during a press conference yesterday that fight buffs will surely be treated to a showdown of pure strength and fearless aggression in the 14-match MMA and kickboxing card.

 “Malingaw gyud ang mga manan-aw ani kay way hunong nga aksiyon ang ilang makita sa MMA ug kickboxing. Swift ang away ug it's either knockout or submission ra ang resulta ,” said Caniga.

Kyle “The Hurricane” Co, the pride of Yaw-Yan ArDigma Cebu, will take on Mark Araneta of Team Unified MMA in a three-round bout topbilling the MMA event.

Co will show his stuff in an unfamiliar territory as he climbs to the featherweight division for the first time just to face hard-hitting Araneta.

 “Kompiyansa man hinuon ko nga maka-adjust rako kay sakto man ko sa training and maintain man akong kapaspas,” said Co, who trains under the watchful eyes of Yaw-Yan ArDigma chief instructor Rommel Villamor.

 For his part, Araneta (3-1) said he will try to carve his second straight win against Co and also to avenge his solitary loss at the hand of Co’s stablemate Engi “Destroyer” Piloto in September last year.

Jiujitsu specialist Johnlery Ian Caniga, son of Master Ekin, will also show his elite fighting style against Theoderoc “Kid” Batuun of the Tagbilaran City-based Team Red Dragon.

In kickboxing main event, Renan "Limbas" Noblefranca also from Yaw-Yan Ardigma Cebu will lock up horns with Steve "D' Lightning" Sevilleno of Team Mindanao Unified MMA Cagayan De Oro.

In the supporting bout, former Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) fighter Piloto will battle Arthur "Spartan King" Barba of the Mindanao Unified Martial Arts (MUMA).

Three other Yaw-Yan ArDigma stalwarts in Ruel “Akiyama” Resauro, Keith “Ice” Acapulco and Geronimo “Daredevil” Etac will also see action.

Resauro will face Arnel Ylanan of Team Bullet Fighting System, Acapulco will tackle Jovanne Javier of Team Red Dragon, and Etac will clash with Dexter Mesiona of Team JR Grand MMA. – THE FREEMAN
