'Tyson' vows to embarrass Banal
CEBU, Philippines - Flashy Canadian boxing champion Tyson “The Prince of Hali” Cave vowed yesterday that ALA stalwart AJ “Bazooka” Banal will surely regret the moment they fought inside the ring, promising not only defeat but a total embarrassment for the Pinoy fighter.
“A flashy guy like me and a hard puncher like Banal this would be a great fight, but I’m confident in every fight and I came to win,” said Cave during a news conference yesterday at Maya Restaurant.
Cave (15-1, 5KOs) said he didn’t travel halfway around the world just to be an easy prey for the Cebuano warrior and that he came to the Philippines with a purpose of not only taking Banal’s belt but also to win some Filipino fans.
Cave will chalenge Banal, the current WBO Asia Pacific bantamweight champion, in the main event of “Pinoy Pride 7: Battle at Mactan” this Saturday night in the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City .
“If I’m done taking AJ’s belt, I will win some fans here and from there I’m probably thinking changing my name to Filipino Cave ,” added the 29-year-old Canadian.
Cave admitted he is not a knockout puncher but said he will use his style to outbox Banal.
“I don’t knock people, I make them cry. I have fun with my opponent and I’m sure that after the fight he will hate me,” added Cave.
He also reiterated his advice to Banal not think about his rematch with Panamanian Rafael Concepcion as he will be the one to put an end to that dream rematch.
Robert Cave , the father/manager of Tyson, also think that his son will give Banal a run for his belt. “Banal should worry, he hasn’t fought anybody like Tyson,” he said.
In the undercards, Indonesian fighters Richard Samosir and Eddy Camaro assured to make an impression. Samosir will face comebacking Michael Domingo, while Camaro will test undefeated knockout artist Lorenzo Villanueva. - THE FREEMAN
