SHABA season 16 to open this pm

CEBU, Philippines - The 16th season of the Sacred Heart Alumni Basketball Association(SHABA), which will now be called the Sacred Heart-Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA), kicks off today with a total of 13 teams participating at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu gym in Brgy. Canduman, Mandaue City.

Among the contending squads in the Cebu Landmasters’ Cup are Mackent Enterprise,Fiesta Cebuana Caters, Kiki's Catering/JAPFA, Istorya.Net, A+ Structures/Eco Blocks, Filmon, San Remigio Beach Club, KIA Motors/White Gold, RDAK/Edcon, Dynamic Power, Kunstof PVC Windows and Doors, Gaisano Capital, and Jolli Traders International.

After the unveiling of the group's new logo and name by some school officials and the association’s president Reagan King comes the action proper with six games on top.

To be played simultaneously are the games featuring Mackent Enterprise against Fiesta Cebuana, Kiki’s Catering/JAPFA versus Istorya.net and RDAK/Edcon opposite Dynamic Power.

At 4:30 pm, San Remigio Beach Club takes on Kia/White Gold, A+Structures mixes it up with Filom, while unstof battles Gaisano Capital. (FREEMAN)
