Red nails second win in Abbariao hoopfest
CEBU, Philippines - Defending champion Red team chalked up its second straight victory at the expense of Blue, 74-68, to take the solo lead in the Maj. Alfonso C. Abbariao Memorial Cup basketball tournament on Wednesday night at the Benedicto College Gym along A.S. Fortuna Street in Mandaue City.
In the other game, the Green squad bounced back from an opening loss and vented its ire on Yellow, 94-80.
Jan Mose topped Red with 13 points, while Customs Police Boodie Monteño and Chinchin Paghasian chipped in 12 markers apiece.
On the other hand, noted hardcourt sniper Jingjing Rama returned to Green's fold with fury, drilling in 29 points in their 14-point whacking of Yellow.
Rama, a dreaded three-point shooter, had a solid backing from shooting guard Noel Medalle with 15 points. (FREEMAN)
