Convergys trounces Accenture in E-League

CEBU, Philippines - The Convergys Wolves secured another win after thrashing Accenture in the elimination round of the Cebu Powerade E-League Basketball Tournament 2011 the other day at the City Sports Club Cebu.

Convergys struggled in the start as Accenture took the lead in the first quarter, 8-6.

Convergys, however, found its form in the second quarter to post a, 24-20 halftime lead.

After a see-saw battle in the third canto, Convergys pulled away in the last quarter en route to a 57-43 win.

Dean Junber Escalon led the Convergys scorers with 12 points while Kristian Tapic and Ronald Mabanto added 14 points combined.

In the other match, Stream Blue Devils massacred Executive Boutique Tarantula, 106-38.

The gritty Blue Devils made a thunderous start as they registered an enormous 40-point lead, 57-17, at the half and went on cruise control from there.

Roderick Mangubat spearheaded Stream's victory with a menacing 34 points. Sylvester Millevo chipped in 16, Louie Caesar Arroyo added 13 while Gilbeys Cabrera, Ritchie Franza and Jerome Holasca contributed 10 points apiece.
