Cebu darters shine

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano darters dominated the recently-concluded 1st Southern Leyte Governors Cup Darts Tournament at the DPWH Conference Room in Maasin City.

Davao-native but now Cebu-based darter Yoko Quillope reigned supreme in the singles event over Melvin Pelona as Roy Laude of LTFRB-Cebu came out third over Ralph Veloso.

Another Cebuano darter, Odong Pamatian got into the joint fifth to eight spot along with Epoi Facundo, Melton Uy and Butch Solidor.

Laude, who missed the singles’ title, got the doubles title instead along with Baybay’s Tom Londina over the tandem of Veloso and Leyte’s Kaju Mullet.

Two other Cebuanos, Odong Pamatian and Gil Arco, finished third.

The beginner’s division saw Elmer Bantugan finish on top after defeating Renan Fernandez as Arvin and Archie Bascug shared the third spot.

In the women’s division, Emee Sheila Pelona was the champion while Amy Boyboy and Jojie Rose Salud followed on second and third in the event, which gave away a total of P40 thousand in cash prizes aside from trophies. – THE FREEMAN
