Baguio tops duathlon
CEBU, Philippines- Before leaving for an event in Bohol, Franz Baguio made sure he was ready to take the challenge by winning the duathlon competition at the SRP.
The bike-run-bike event saw one of Cebu's former top swimming varsity athletes winning the elite 20-29 action over Leo Abello and Jezam Baldomar.
The 30-39 class had Florante Ordeniza on top and trailed by Elmer Rosel and Renante Siega.
Veteran cyclist, Nilo Barbalose utilized his cycling expertise to beat Tyrone Tan as Neil Godinez wound up third 40-above class.
Rochelle Tan, however, made up for her father's loss by winning the female open's division over little-known Gwendale Aranas as Loren Poblete came third.
Cynthia Arnaiz was unopposed in the women's 40-above division.
Frank Willem Dewit and Michael Fernan won the tandem action. — THEFREEMAN
