ANS-Pomeroy went off to a hot start, knocking in five goals while allowing Blessed John to score only once.
With newcomer Jake Ricaplaza leading the charge, ANS-Pomeroy rained more triples in the final half to consummate the eight-point rout.
In the other boys 17 match, host USC-TC defeated Mandaue Technical Institute, 4-1.
In the lone boys 17 duel over at the San Roque Parish field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu overpowered USC-North Campus, 6-0.
In the players 10 bracket, defending champion MTI played as if they're in a baseball match as they ruthlessly clobbered the hapless Saint Joseph School of Mactan/3-Bros, 19-0.
At Paref-Springdale in Brgy. Lahug, host Springdale escaped with a 2-1 victory over Canduman in the boys 12 division.
It was a double whammy for Canduman as its players 10 counterparts were shackled by San Roque Royal United, 6-0.
Action resumes today featuring a total of 11 games spread in three venues starting off at 8 am and ending to around 9 pm.
At Paref Springdale, Ateneo de Cebu takes on USC-NC at 8 am followed by VDR2 against Canduman at 9:30 am in the boys 12. San Roque Royal United battles Queen City United at 2:30pm, while Count FC mixes it up with Ateneo de Cebu at 4 pm in the boys 10.
The matches at San Roque pit MMIS vs. MTI at 8 am and Ateneo de Cebu vs. ANS-Pomeroy at 9:30 am in the boys 14, QCU vs. USC-TC at 3:30 pm in girls 17, and QCU-A vs. Count at 5:30 pm and QCU-B vs. Hiroshi FC at 7 pm in 40-above class.
USC-TC will play host to the men’s open division pitting San Roque Royal against QCU at 1:30 pm and Count versus Hiroshi at 3:30 pm.
