Lion Tiger to face Gaisano Capital in Partners' Cup finals

CEBU, Philippines - The UV Lancers-manned Lion Tiger Aerosol hammered out a 71-64 victory over the San Marino Corned Tuna-SWU Cobras to proceed into the final round of the 5th CESAFI Partners' Cup the other night at the Cebu Coliseum.

Lion Tiger, thus, arranged a best-of-five championship clash with the topseeded Gaisano Capital-UC Webmasters beginning on Monday at the Cebu Coliseum.

Later in the day, Gaisano Capital escaped with a 58-57 win over Rose Aquarius Merchandising in a non-bearing match.

Edrian Lao paced Lion Tiger with 19 points even as Phil Mercader and Vincent Mendoza scored 12 points each as they finished the semifinals with an even 2-2 win-loss record.

San Marino, which will play against Rose Aquarius for the third place honors, was led by Eleazar Armecin with 22 points. Rene Pacquiao added 13 markers followed by Bonifacio Guillena III with 12. (FREEMAN)
