CEBU, Philippines - Jan Ivor Lastrilla and Ronel Abing showed their might with finesse in the latest edition of the Summit Natural Drinking Water Amateur Boxing Series at the Gaisano Countrymall car park.
Lastrilla of Tacloban City silenced Elmo Traya of Consolacion, 3-0, while Abing pulled off the same lopsided decision over John Rey Melligen in the 57 kgs. class.
Two bets from Lahug also hurdled their respective assignments. 30 kgs. Ariel Sibay eked out a 2-1 win against Philippine-Australia Boxing Club’s Richard Rama, while 36 kgs. Joel Luca punched in a 3-0 whitewash of Tinago’s Paul Gringo.
Camotes’ 52 kgs. entry Elemar Baral outsmarted Ormoc’s Marvin Mestola, 2-1, in the 52 kgs. division, but his teammate Mardy Muana lost to Bacolod’s Juren Labardo in the 54 kgs. class.
Cabancalan’s Jicky Malupay crushed Yan-Yan Estella of PABC in the 50 kgs. but his comrade Wendel Acharon was not as lucky, bowing to Consolacion’s 52 kgs. bet Ritchie Montealto.
Newcomers Jomar Señor of Sibonga and Rando Torsendes provided much entertainment to the spectators as they showed off everything they have got in a bid to outwith each other. In the end, Torsendes got the judges’ nod in their 57 kgs. duel.
Bacayan’s Dominique Castañares prevailed over PABC’s Bebe Rama, 3-0, in the 26 kgs.class, Mabolo’s 37 kgs. entry Jojn Lloyd Transporte defeated Mambaling’s Junnel Olivares, and 49 kgs. Kevin Jake Cataraja of Talamban outpunched Cherwillan Cantel of Maguikay.
