CEBU, Philippines - Close to 50 teams have already signed up for the 11th CAFC National Inter-Club Football Cup on May 21 to 29 mainly at the University of San Carlos-Technological Center in Brgy. Talamban, this city.
This year’s action will feature seven categories including the players 10, boys 12,14, 17, men’s open, 40-above and the latest addition which is the girls 17.
The players 10 and boys 12 will be played at Paref-Springdale in Lahug, the boys 14, girls 17 and 40-above will be at San Roque Parish field in Subangdaku, Mandaue, while the rest will be at the USC-TC in Talamban.
The boys 17 has the most number of entries with nine while the players 10, boys 12, and 14 draw eight squads each.
The premiere men’s open has six teams, so far, while the 40-above has five. The lone girls battle has four squads.
So far, five out-of-town clubs have already sent entries including Masbate’s Aroroy Football Club, Westbridge of Ilo-ilo City, Ormoc Football Club, Manila Soccer Academy, and the Hijos Football Club of Samar.—(FREEMAN)
