CEBU, Philippines - Pepo Rubi snatched two titles and had a runner-up finish in the 2011 MS Motosuit Motocross Series-3rd Mayor Ricky Ramirez Cup in Medellin.
Quickflight Racing’s Rubi prevented John Flores from reigning supreme in the premiere open division of the fifth leg of the annual series.
Big thanks to Rubi’s teammate Clark Wagas who helped Rubi in a way to block Flores' way on top.
Rubi topped the pro class followed by Wagas and Flores.
Wagas and Rubi engaged in a friendly battle in the expert class that saw Wagas on top followed by Rubi and Flores.
With some energy left, Rubi went on to dominate the intermediate class, with the fast-rising Cyril Tariman and Wagas occupying the next two spots.
Tariman still went home happy as he secured the novice open production title over Donkey Sanchez and Ryan Paghasian.
Sanchez had nothing to be bitter about as he got two titles through the open enduro against Jay Sanico and the local enduro over Alex Abalo. Ray Querol ended third in the two events Sanchez ruled.
Ray Querol lorded it over in the beginners open production over Keiz BJ’s big boss Seigfred Ornopia.
Ornopia wasn’t lucky in his favorite executive A class as well with foreign rider Joseph Root stealing the show from him.
The executive B saw Roscel Gungob on top, while Butch Flores dominated the executive C action.
Seigfred Ornopia’s eldest son Brylle also ended up second in the mini 65cc behind BJ Pepito.
Pepito also got the peewee 50cc class title against the little-known Froilan Mendaros and Daniel Gastador.
The mini 85cc saw Jougue Basco winning the title over Ribrib Pepito and Denmar Supatan.
John Flores later poured his frustrations in the underbone competition wherein he won by a large margin over Jougee Basco and Smith Supatan. – (FREEMAN)
