Ave Maria takes on San Marino tonight

CEBU, Philippines - Defending champion Ave Maria Sanctuary Park tries to arrest a three-game losing skid when they test the mettle of the surging San Marino Corned Tuna in tonight's main match of the 5th CESAFI Partners' Cup at the Cebu Coliseum.

In the first game, Winner Beef Loaf takes on the winless Rose Aquarius.

Ave Maria, now toting a 1-3 win-loss record, is hoping to chalk up an important win tonight. After escaping with a two-point victory over Prime Asia, Ave Maria bannered by the USJ-R Jaguars, lost the next three games against the powerhouse Gaisano Capital, Winner Beef Loaf and Lion Tiger.

The 2-3 San Marino, on the other hand, is hoping to improve their record in order not to be left out in the race before going into the second round.

Ave Maria of team owner Raffy Senining will be bannered by Abulaiz Suliman, Jason Nudalo, Banjo Capillar, Midget dela Rama, Michael Bucayan and Renzo Senining.

San Marino is banking on the threesome of Rene Pacquiao, Eleazar Armecin and Gil Wagas with the support of Joseph Nalos and Bonifacio Guillena, Jr.

Winner Beef Loaf ( 1-3) relies on the tandem of Chester Curso and Allan Dimco, while Rose (0-4) can count on Fritz Dajalos, James Ferraren and Randy Avila among others.
