CG Brokers, Sugbupim drub foes in CCUPA hoopfest
CEBU, Philippines - The Canillas-Gonzales (CG) Customs Brokerage bounced back from a devastating loss and vented their ire on CMM Customs Brokerage, 79-67, in last Thursday's game of the 1st Cebu Customs United Personeros Association (CCUPA) basketball tournament at the Ma. Gochan gym in Brgy. Mambaling, this city.
In the other game, the Sugbupim Brokers defeated the Alin Customs Brokerage, 84-80.
The CG Brokerage of team owners Roy Canillas and Art Gonzales are now tied with Sugbupim with 1-1 win-loss records.
Ferdie Sigue let his defenders paid dearly for not challenging his shots as he drilled in three triples of his topscoring 15 points, while Eulo Arevalo added 14 points.
The CMM was led by the tandem of Gabriel Ian Villarin and Jhonory Pasturan with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
On the other hand, Crisanto Manulat was unstoppable with his 30 points for Sugbupim even as three others also finished in double figures.
Edwin Estorgio paced Alin Brokers with 16 points, while team owner Israel Alin added 16 markers. (FREEMAN)
