Many years ago, I developed an interest on going places on board my bicycle.
I had a group of friends from my barangay who I would be biking with in the afternoons as we went to the various nooks and crannies of our town.
On some afternoons we would be climbing the steep roads leading towards the mountain barangays, there were days when we would hit the beaches with only our trusted bikes as our means of transportation.
Then at some point, I got interested in doing tricks using my bike, but have crashed badly once and have literally been forever scarred from that mishap.
As I got older, the biking days had to go as four-wheeled vehicles became my choice of transport to take me from home to work and to many other places.
It was only a year ago when I decided to hit the road again using a bicycle and although I haven’t really been spending much time pedaling during those months when rain poured incessantly, the onset of the dry season gave me no more reason to shun my bike.
I am lucky to live some place where I don’t need to bike on the highway first before I would be able to get to the mountains where the air is cooler and the scenery is much greener.
Biking, even if done alone, can be fun and fulfilling activity. If done with a group, I’m sure it is a lot more fun.
One thing that I’d been hoping to do is to bring my camera along to snap pictures of the scenery, but it will be too heavy a load to carry so I’ll have to be satisfied with having to use my cellular phone’s camera to record the scenery.
Maybe time will come when I’ll be moving around faster and not enjoy the scenery that much, but I am not training to race, just biking for fun and exercise.

It seems that several are interested to watch the 4th Cebu 10s Rugby Festival at the Cebu International School (CIS) field this Saturday.
We have received a few calls and text messages from people who are curious about the event.
The organizers have announced that entrance is free and competitions would start at 10 a.m. and would run until 4 p.m.
Three Cebu teams, the EMIA Cebu Dragons, Overgaards Low Flying Dragons, and the 1st Autogas Komodo Dragons, will be seeing action against teams from other parts of the country and from Hong Kong.
I’m sure there would be some rugby players who would be more than willing to explain to those who don’t understand the sport what is happening on the field.
This way, more would be encouraged to try the sport.
