CEBU, Philippines - The Pajo National High School (PNHS) Lady Vipers bowed out of championship contention after losing to Hope Christian School during the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball League dubbed as “Tournament of Champions” the other day at the University of St. La Salle-Bacolod gym in Bacolod City.
Hope Christian School took the first two sets in dominating fashion, 25-17, 25-15 for a commanding 2-0 lead.
However, the PNHS belles of Fr. Rolando T. Manayon came raging in the third set to stay alive via 25-23 decision behind the powerful attacks of Gretchel Soltones, Marjorie Coloscos, Charlita Auza, Cristy Sucalit, Apple Roiles and Danika Molinas and reinforcement Julaiza Mae Larada from the University of San Jose-Recoletos.
Triggered by PNHS third set win, Hope Christian School tightened their defense and went back to their witty performance to finally eliminate PNHS, 25-17 finish.
Hope Christian School, thus, joined reigning champion USLS-Bacolod atop the leaderboard as they remained unbeaten in the elimination round.
PNHS' only hope now is to occupy the third place but they must win against Davao National High School to get this chance.
If they will beat DNHS, they will face Central Philippines University in the battle for third place. (FREEMAN)
