The other heroes of the Azkals fans
The football-loving Filipinos and the new converts to the game cheered the 3-0 victory of the Azkals over Bangladesh last night.
With the absence of live television coverage, the fans had to log in to the Internet and monitor the posts of those who were in Myanmar to watch the game.
Aside from the heroes inside the pitch like Angel Aldeguer Guirado, thanks also to the heroes who made it possible for the rest of the Azkals fans to get regular updates of what was happening.

Today, the Golf for Japan tournament is taking place at the Cebu Country Club.
This event is meant to raise funds to be donated to the Japanese people, who were victims of the recent disasters that hit the country.
You don’t only get to have fun at the golf course. You also get to do your share of being a citizen of the world.

The Terry Larrazabal Bike Festival is already taking place next week in Ormoc City.
I wrote about this event a few weeks ago after bumping into lawyer Gregorio ‘Goyo’ Larrazabal at the XTerra event in the town of Liloan.
Goyo, who is now a very young retired commissioner of the Commission on Elections (Comelec), made sure that he gets the TLBF going again now that his election duties are over.
There are several events lined up aside from the bike competitions, making the TLBF a perfect example of a sports tourism activity that other event organizers can learn from.
The organizers of the event are also making sure that the visitors will be guided properly when they head to Ormoc City and have already started disseminating information about transportation and places to stay aside from the details of the events.
If you can find time to head to Ormoc late next week, do check out the TLBF. I, however, suggest that you find a place to stay with family and friends and the hotels and the inns are expected to be full with the hundreds of participants going to the Eastern Visayas city.
