Bernido, Diongson rule Tri-Centennial Run
CEBU, Philippines - Ian Bernido once again outlasted Mendel Lopez to reign supreme in the Tri-Centennial Run yesterday in the the municipality of Dalaguete.
Bernido, who hails from Ubay, Bohol, ovecame some tough obstacles to claim the men's 10-kilometer titles.
Lopez landed at second place followed by Adonis Singson.
In the distaff side, Crizel Diongson capitalized on the absence of her more seasoned rivals to bag the women's tiara.
Diongson outpaced Joeyry Lee while Christy Sevilleno-Tutor wound up third.
Joel Delposo, on the other hand, remained unbeaten in the 5K division, while Miljune Duterte and Michael Estrera occupied the next two spots.
Aiza Suwaybaguio came out as the top finisher in the women's 5K of the Tri-Centennial Run, which is just one of the many sporting events spotlighting Dalaguete's 300th founding anniversary. The rest are inter-town basketball, cycling, boxing and motocross.— (FREEMAN)
