CEBU, Philippines - Host Hillside Subdivision and F. Llamas Youth Association (FYA) fought to a 77-all standoff during their exhibition game last night highlighting the Hillside Basketball League semifinals at the village's open court.
FYA could have walked away with the victory had Ranel Patalita converted even just one of his two free throws with a second left to play.
Three Hillside players finished in double figures led by Edsel Murallon with 16 points. Brian Gomez and James chipped in 13 and 11 points, respectively.
Nico Laborte had 28 points for the FYA stars, while Paul Basalo added 13 markers.
The Hillside League is led by chairman Edgar Martinez, with Maurice Flordeliz as tournament director. (FREEMAN)
