CEBU, Philippines - Hospicio ‘Razy’ Razon bagged the top honors in the tournament of Club Filipino Incorporada de Cebu, which was played last Saturday at the golf course in barangay Pulangyuta, Danao City.
The event was originally set on the second Saturday of December, but organizers were forced to reschedule it due to the heavy downpour that disrupted the play.
Razon fired a gross score of 73 strokes and finished with a net score of 63 to take the title of the premiere handicap category.
Runner-up honors went to club director Evans Tumaliwan with a net score of 66 off a gross 74.
The class B title went to Al Parson with a net score of 64 off a gross 81. Runner-up honors for this class went to Joselito ‘Jiji’ Gullas, who fired a net score of 65 off a gross score of 79.
Lucio Tapnio topped class C with a net score of 62 after edging James Tolentino in the countback. Tolentino settled for the runner-up honors.
Playing his first tournament under the 55 years-old and above category or the seniors’ class, The Freeman columnist Valeriano ‘Bobit’ Avila bagged the title with a net score of 69 off a gross 91.
Runner-up honors went to Robert Gotiong with a net score of 72 edging Ed Misa in the countback.
In the guest division for the non-members of the club, Alejandro ‘Jun’ Dayot III fired a tournament-best net score of 61 to win the title. Runner-up honors went to Andrew Wu with a net score of 62. (NLQ) (FREEMAN)
