Ave Maria rules Lapu-Lapu fiesta caging

CEBU, Philippines - Ave Maria Sanctuary Park defeated the UV Lancers, 105-96, to rule the Lapu-Lapu Fiesta Open basketball tournament the other day at the Lapu-Lapu City Plaza covered court.

Ex-pro Jercules Tangkay topped Ave Maria with 31 points. That earned him the nod as the tournament MVP. Danny Aying and Ian Saladaga added 17 and 15 points, respectively, while Aldrin Ocañada chipped in 13 markers.

Randy de la Pisa topscored for the Lancers with 21 points, while Kim Calo finished with 16 points. The other UV players who scored in double figures were Ralf Olivares and Michael Luga with 12 apiece. (FREEMAN)
