As a rejoinder to my boss Nimrod Q's column yesterday, volleyball freaks will troop to this northern Cebu town to witness two days of top-rate volleyball action from teams representing the municipalities of Compostela, Consolacion, Cordova, host Liloan and the City of Mandaue.
Games for tomorrow and Sunday are scheduled to start at 8am and as per experience, CEVA people are really conscious of time. So if you wish to catch the games, be at the Panphil B. Frasco Memorial Sports Complex by eight in the morning.
Women's games are scheduled in the mornings, men's will be in the afternoon.
The men and women's teams are bannered by current and former varsity players so expect games to be exciting 3-set thrillers. To add spice to the mix, all teams are allowed reinforcements. May the best teams from both divisions win, and I hope, in all my biases, Liloan will emerge the best among the best.
I would like to make special mention of two people who have been very supportive of the Liloan men and women's team, aside from Mayor Duke Frasco. Former councilor Cocoy Jumapao and Camilo Conlu of Golden Harvest Flavors and Spice Corp., daghang salamat for your unwavering commitment. The LGU, with all it's constraints and limitations will always be grateful for your support. Coach Ondo Mosqueda and Coach Paul Delgado, the best of luck to you.

Congressman PacMan, aside from his boxing exploits, is also noted for his generosity. He has a scholarship foundation which sends to college the less fortunate. There are rumors that he will be having a school of his own specifically to address the matter. A very noble endeavor indeed, and he can well afford to have several schools if he wishes.
But there is no truth to the rumor that his school will be called Pacq-U. Students will then be called Pacquers, and if Mommy Dionesia will take charge of the school's administration, what shall we call her, Mother Pacquer? Ouch!
