In a meeting last Saturday afternoon, it was decided to reschedule the 1st Security Practitioners Shootfest that was originally set for this Monday, November 29.
The change in schedule for the event, which is organized by the Philippine Society for Industrial Security (PSIS)-7 is to allow its members to be better acquainted with the format of the competition.
Lawyer Michelle Mendez-Palmares, the president of PSIS-7 said that there will be another orientation on the 29th instead, which will include a chance for the members to shoot. The activity will start at 8 a.m. and end at 12 noon at the NS Outdoor Firing Range in Tawason, Mandaue City.
The competition proper will be held this January.

Frankie Miñoza of Bukidnon, Philippines earned a tour card for the 2011 Champions Tour.
Frankie was tied for second in the qualifying tournament that was recently held at the TPC Eagle Trace in Coral Springs, Florida, earning him the card.
This is the senior tour, which is for players aged 50 years old and above. Frankie is now 51.
Frankie has not really been able to translate his success in the Japanese Tour to good finishes in the tournaments that he joined in the United States.
I hope that this time, he will do so much better.
Frankie is a regular visitor to Cebu and has a lot of friends here. He also welcomes the Cebuano golfers, who visit Bukidnon, to his home.
I think, after Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro, Frankie considers Cebu as another place that he can call home.

The talks between Derek Jeter and the New York Yankees for a new contract seem to have stalled.
The team captain of the many-time World Series winners has been reportedly asking for a six-year contract, but this has been denied by his camp as the 36-year-old shortstop is asking only a one that is good for four years.
These are, however, usual hitches and hopefully in the next few weeks Jeter will ink a deal that will keep him in pinstripes for several more years.
Many can't imagine him wearing another uniform.
