Mandaue, CCC reach Aloguinsan cage semis
CEBU, Philippines – Team Mandaue and the Carmen Copper Corporation (CCC) Builders posted con-trasting victories to advance into the crossover semifinals of the Aloguinsan Mayor's Cup Open basketball tournament at the Aloguinsan Superdome.
The Mandaue cagers ousted the Romerica Convenience Store, 106-103, while the Builders defeated Barili, 101-95, in a non-bearing match.
Former UV Baby Lancer Ardy Cabañero amassed 46 points for the Mandaue cagers, while Ronan Isidro chipped in 21 markers.
On the other hand, Turo Canillo and Elvis Labares connived for 72 points for the Aloguinsan-based Romerica.
In the main match, Jayford Rodriguez topscored for the Builders with 33 points, while Eliud Poligrates finished with 30 points for Barili.
The champion will receive P100,000, while the second to fourth will take home P75,000, P50,000 and P10,000. (FREEMAN)
