Cebu Blue Marlins to join Dumaguete short course swim

CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu Blue Marlins Swimming Club will be fielding over 30 swimmers in the final leg of the PASA G-League Short Course Swimming Championships today at the Shaw Memorial swimming pool in Dumaguete City today.

The team will be led by new World Swimming Coaches Association-Pilipinas Level 2 accredited coach Rolando Alvarez and Level 1 coach Matthew Vincent Vega.

The CBM has not only boosted the skills of its swimmers, but also the coaches.

The CBM swimmers are fresh from a swimming clinic under a former US National team mainstay turned University of Hawaii assistant strength coach, Scott Sheerwood at the Cebu City Sports Center along with swimmer Christel Simms.

The CBM bets to this Dumaguete event are FBC’s Michael Ichiro Kong; Labangon’s Karen Mae Indaya; USC’s Tristan Kirk and Kyla Ebon, Razel Cabajar, and Aaron Grant Embuscado; Cebu Eastern College’s Anthony II, Lyh Ann and Anthony Linn all surnamed Navarro; Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu’s Danielle Bettina Vasquez and St. Theresa’s College’s Patricia Mae Baguio.

Those from the University of Cebu are Matthew Angelo Cañeda, Joshua Rosada, Clarence Israel Gabunada, Anthony Ray de la Peña, Cielo Osorio, Noel Cañeda, Pierre Niño Baguio, Danre John Lumapas, Felix Cristobal Vega, Christopher Soza, Dannielle Mae Ballesteros, Bethmay Arellano, Trina Cañeda, Cristine Indaya, Je-rose Rosada, Romylin Niña Ignacio, Joyce Huguete, Paula Abigail Vega, and Aimee Sanchez.  (THE FREEMAN)
