CEBU, Philippines - Over 800 big bikers will takes part in this year’s “Biketoberfest” set October 29 to 31 at the Asiatown I.T Park in barangay Apas, this city.
The event organized by an international bike club, the Star touring and Riding Association- Cebu Chapter is anticipated to be the biggest gathering of big bikers in recent history.
“This will be the biggest gathering of star club members in the country, coming from the four different chapters namely Cebu, Cabadbaran, Ormoc and Manila.” said Bing Avila, former vice-president and one of the founders of Star Touring, in a press conference at Northwinds Hotel.
Big bikers from Japan, Korea, Norway, Spain and the U.S. are also set to join the event.
Star touring-Cebu chapter which was founded by Avila in 2003 started with just 15 members.
For this year’s outing, the club which is composed of star big bike owners which main focus is on family, camaraderie and riding will launch of a series of activities including the traditional road parade, exhibit and outreach program for the benefit of the Cebu City Task Force on Street Children of City councilor Margot Osmeña and also to the orphans of Asilo De la Milagrosa.
Prior to the series of activities here, big bikers are also set for a cross-country ride in Zamboanga City covering a total of 300 kilometers today. (THE FREEMAN)
