Pamatian Cebu's lone entry to RP Open darts finals
CEBU, Philippines - The underrated Odong Pamatian saved the day of the Cebuanos by taking away the last slot available during the Cebu leg of the Philippine Open Darts Singles at the Baseline Sports and Recreation Center.
Pamatian is the lone Cebuano player who booked a ticket to the national finals set on October 16 and 17 at the NU Grill of Ambassador Hotel in Manila.
It was a hard-earned triumph for Pamatian as he had to go through the loser’s bracket before advancing into the grand finals.
The rest of the eight slots available in the latest provincial leg were taken away by Manileños and Cagayan de Oro City darters.
Cagayan’s Jun Bayawa and Dixie Ybañez got the first two slots followed by Manila’s Boie Parfan and Max Pepito.
The rest of the qualifiers were Manila’s Don Cariaga and Dong Sumulong and Cagayan’s Jun Espiñola.
They will go up against 24 other regional qualifiers in the Manila finale where the top winner will represent the Philippines to the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championships later this year in London. (THE FREEMAN)
