CEBU, Philippines – Joeyry Lee and Riez Enriquez came out the fastest in their respective divisions in the 1st WCIP Balam-ban Fiesta Run in Balamban over the weekend.
Lee, whose family hails from Balamban, made the most out of her familiarity of the route to cross the finish line first in the women's 10K run with the time of 43 minutes and 45 seconds.
The comebacking Christy Sevilleno-Tutor placed second in 46:16, while upcoming runner Mereeis Ra-mirez, who is also from Balamban, wound up third with a 46:37 clocking.
In the men's 10K action, Enriquez won the title by just a split of a second over Adonis Singson, the Cebu leg champion of the 34th National Milo Marathon. He posted the time of 36.14 against Singson's 36.15.
Ian Bernido settled for third in 37:37.
Joel Delposo dominated the men's 5K battle with a 19:12 clocking followed by Meljun Luterte in 19:15 and Balamban's Aldrin Agang in 19:25.
In the distaff side, the Diongson sisters came up with a 1-2 finish. Clarrise won the top spot in 20.48 fol-lowed by Crizel in 24:11, while Merlita Arias-Dunkin placed third with the time of 24:20.
The top three in the men's 3K were Leo Abello (8:51), Ramie Lawas and Roy Villahermosa (9:02), while the top performers in the distaff side were Kresha Mae Ygot (11:30), Kimberly Anne Ygot (11:57) and Aizel Campilan (12:02).
The Gimenas of Abucayan, Balamban - Virgilio (69) and Rizalina (67) - grabbed part of the limelight as they emerged as the oldest finishers. (FREEMAN)
