De los Santos, Carolino dominate DSOS 10K Run
CEBU, Philippines - Mary Grace de los Santos gave the upcoming Mary Joy Tabal a neat lesson in running on her way to defend her title in the 2010 Don Sergio Osmeña, Sr.10K Run at the Cebu City Sports Center yesterday.
De los Santos showed Tabal, the 34th Milo Marathon-Cebu leg women's champion, still has a lot to learn before overpowering her by claiming the women's tiara in 36 minutes and 46 seconds. Tabal placed second with the time of 39:16.33.
Madelyn Carter wound up third in 39:47.81 followed by Jojielyn Pepito (41:15.89) and Mereeis Ramirez (43:56.83).
In the men’s side, things had become unpredictable since Kenyan Simon Losiaboi left Cebu .
This time, Joebert Carolino took away the top spot after crossing the finish line in 33:34.27.
Little-known Arnold Unabia trailed closely in 33:36.04 as Elmer Bartolo finished third with a 33:48.45 clocking.
Jordan Bacong got the fourth spot in 33:55.60 to the disappointment of Milo Marathon Cebu top male qualifier Adonis Singson, who just ended fifth with a 35-minute clocking.
The rest of the winners were Allan Polinar in masters A class, brothers Ruth and Elberto Banzon in masters B and C and Marcos Pelare in masters D.
