JT Gullas bags gold in Asian karting tourney

CEBU, Philippines – Promising Cebuano go-kart racer JT Gullas grabbed a gold in an international event through the round 2 of the 2010 Asian Karting Open Championships at the Kartodromo de Coloane in Macau, China.

The young Gullas bagged the ROK Junior title, making him one of the top karters of the day out of the close to 60 riders from different countries who joined the competition.

Gullas’ victory became a saving grace for the Philippine squad as the rest of the bets faced a lot of trouble in their respective campaigns.

Christian Gaddi took the bronze in the mini ROK class as Christian Villenueve landed fourth in the Formula 125 Open Junior category.

Three more legs are left in AKOC this year based on the schedule posted on an Asian karting website.

Round 3 is set from August 6 to 8 in Sentul Circuit, Indonesia, Round 4 back in Macau on October 8 to 10 and round 5 on November 5 to 7 in Pattaya ,Thailand. (THE FREEMAN)
