Liao is BiG's 'golfer of the year'

CEBU, Philippines - Peter Liao scored 41 points to win the ‘golfer of the year’ honors in the 17th Business in Golf Tournament played Thursday at the Cebu Country Club.

The award goes to the member of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who will score the most points in the four-man team event using the Modified Stableford Scoring System.

The team title went to Bad Boyz 1 with a total of 155 points. The scores of all four team members are counted for the team total.

The team was composed of Kim Kwang Seok, Cho Kyu Jeong and Ben Li with 40 points apiece. Completing the squad was Wendell Yap with 35 points.

First runner-up honors went to Shell 2 with 153 points courtesy of Arturo Go with 40, Ramon Sebastian 39, Vicente ‘Inting’ Go 38 and Ang Chiong 36.

Second runner-up was Bad Boyz 2 with 152 points after edging Greenworld 1 in the countback.

Bad Boyz 2 was manned by Nestor Cabrera with 40 points, Lee Ung Rak 39, Jun Dayot 39 and Jufil Sato 34.

The tournament is part of the Cebu Business Month Celebration initiated by the CCCI.

This year’s tournament chairman was Emmanuel Tesalona.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
