Negrenses await Alaska-San Miguel duel in Dumaguete

- Syril Repe -

DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines – Another exciting PBA game awaits the Negrenses on Saturday as the Alaska Aces take on San Miguel Beermen at 5 pm at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Complex here.

The Beermen are expected to show off the kind of play that gave them second spot in the team standings with 12-5 card, while the Aces, sporting an 11-6 record, will try to stay in the hunt for an outright semifinal berth in the PBA Fiesta Conference.

Dumaguete City Sports Coordinator Joe Guirit said the Alaska-SMB showdown promises to be full of excitement because both squads demolished their rivals their previous games in Dumaguete City a few years back.

Guirit said the Aces had already won four times in Dumaguete City provincial sorties, while the Beermen won two times.

The Alaska Aces will be the first team to arrive in Dumaguete on Thursday, according to Guirit.

The organizer of the PBA game, the Negros Oriental and Sports and Cultural Facilities Board of Management (NOSCFBM) said the game honors the memory of the late Governor Emilio “Dodo” Macias II, who was the lifelong PBA fan and the same time supported the sports development in the province of Negros Oriental.

Tickets are sold at P150, P200, 300, P400, P600, P700 and P1,000 and are available at the Sports Complex and in front of the Cang’s Department Store along Perdices Street. General admission is pegged at P100. (THE FREEMAN)
