Red Cubs to don RP colors in ASEAN School Games

CEBU, Philippines - Palarong Pambansa champion San Beda College (SBC) Red Cubs of Cebuano coach Brit Carlo Reroma will represent the country to the seven-nation ASEAN Schools Games on July 13 to 19 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The week-long tournament, which will be held at the Malaysian Amateur Basketball Association (MABA) Stadium, is participated in by ASEAN member nations in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam and Philippines.

The Department of Education (DepEd) through undersecretary Ramon Bacani is sponsoring the Malaysia trip of the Red Cubs as well as the women’s bet from the Caroline High School.

The competition is exclusive for high school players aged 17 years old and must born in 1993.

One of the 12 members of the Red Cubs is Cebuano Daryl Nazareno, who formerly played for the University of San Carlos (USC) Passarelle team. He is the cousin of Alexander Nazareno of the University of Cebu.

The complete San Beda roster includes Van Abatayo, Gelo de la Costa, Aldrin Nunas, Jayboy Babilonia, Francis Abarcar, Chris Lim, Gelo Malapitan, Buden Miranda, Michaell Tee, Michael Bonsubre and Lexter Manalo.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
