Cebu's Quebec makes waves in Palompon bikefest
CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano pedal-pusher Lito Quebec had a fruitful trip to Palompon, Leyte as he emerged as the overall champion in class C of the 2010 Palompon Individual Time Trial and Road Race over the weekend.
Although he had to work hard on his own as most of the racers were from Leyte province, Quebec managed to take home a champion’s trophy after seeing action in the individual time trial and road race.
Quebec posted two hours, 31 minutes and 27.8 seconds to lead the cast of finishers in class C.
ISBA’s Johnny Sevillejo trailed Quebec, while Maasin’s Jovanne Espiritu landed third in the final standings.
Quebec didn’t finish first in any of the two events featured in the Crest Forwarders, Inc. and Palompon Road and Off-Road Bikers Incorporated-organized event, but his respectable placings paved his way to a podium finish in class C.
In the massed start road race, Quebec wound up third behind Johnny Sevillejo and Maasin’s Jovanne Espiritu, but the three had an identical clockings of 1:59:43.7.
In the ITT, Quebec wound up fourth with the time of 31:46.11, a notch higher than Sevillejo that eventually got him the overall crown.
In class B, Ormoc’s Philip Sanz bagged the top honors with a 2:25:2.3 clocking. Albuera’s Nonito Antigua came out second in 2:26:27.4 followed by Eduardo Chu in 2:26:45. (FREEMAN NEWS)
